Looking Into the Future - What's Next

Friends of Ghana, Inc. is committed to serving and supporting those in need in the rural areas of Ghana, West Africa over the long term.  Ghanaians are involved at every point in our holistic efforts from planning, to organizing, to implementation.  This involvement helps us to avoid imposing our priorities and cultural expectations upon the economic, educational, medical, and social service assistance efforts we provide, support, or coordinate. This commitment to responding to the needs of those we serve was tangibly reflected at the close of our 2006 mission when we turned over total responsibility for the Azani palm oil and cassava processing operation to a newly formed Board comprised entirely of local Ghanaians.

Through our partnership with Friends of Ghana Outreach – our Ghanaian NGO counterpart – we are able to identify the specific needs in rural villages or regions and how we can be most effective in meeting them with available resources.

Specific projects that will be carried out during summer 2008 are outlined under the heading, 2008 Mission.

How You Can Help….

Individuals as well as corporations, educational organizations, medical and pharmaceutical concerns, civic groups, and faith communities are invited to partner with us.

Partnership may take three forms:
  1. financial support;
  2. equipment or supply donations;
  3. hands-on participation through annual mission trips; participants contribute $500 toward the projects identified for that year and pay for all personal travel-related expenses).
